Swords and Knives
I collect swords and knives. Let's face it, on first glance that may sound kind of scary but I collect for the historical aspect of them. I don't buy fantasy swords, even though I liked the Lord of the Rings movies I have no interest in collecting any of the characters swords. The ones I buy are made from quality steel, not the cheaper Pakistani steel you run across most of the time. The swords you see in most catalogs may be pretty, but you can tell from the price they're made from cheap steel and would bend easily. By contrast, the swords I collect are museum quality replicas based on actual historical models or are generic to their time-period. They're also very well tempered and can be bent 30 degrees from true and still snap back to their original shape without the hint of a residual bend.
The knives I collect are mostly old, but not necessarily antique. I have the Cub Scout knife I got way back when, a bayonet from a still to be determined military weapon and things like that. I've had a few historical replicas that caught my eye, but haven't bought one yet.
